Fort Apache



John Wayne stars as Captain York, with Henry Fonda costarring as Colonel Thursday, and Shirley Temple as his daughter. Colonel Thursday takes command of the Post and leads the unit into a heroic, but sowerful defeat, against Cochise and the Apache Nation.     



Colonel Thursday is seen here, meeting temporary Regimental Commander, Captain York. He is also annoucing his arrival to Fort Apache.



Colonel Thursday is seen having Officer Call, he is making his offical annoucement of his takeover as Regimental Commander. Also, Captain York is relieved, and returns as A Troop Commander.



LT Rouke and several Noncommissoned Officers ares seen here training brand new recruits. LT Rouke is on the mount. He is straight of West Point, and his father is the Regimental Sergeant-Major.



LT Rouke is seen out riding with the Regimental Commander's daughter, Miss Thursday.



LT Rouke is leading a patrol, that is in retreat. They are being chased by about 30 Apaches.



Colonel Thursday and Captain York, are leading a platoon of A Troop, to route the Apaches who are chasing LT Rouke and his patrol, as seen in the previous picture



Captain York and one of his Noncommisoned Officers, is seen here meeting Cochise. He is trying to get Cochise to come back voluntary, without going to war.



The Regiment is having a Noncommisoned Officer's Ball. They have started into there first dance.



The Regiment is forming up at Fort Apache. There are preparing to move out and to go find Cochise and the Apache Nation.



Colonel Thursday and Cochise are having a meeting. Cochise is trying to make simple demands, so his people may return to the reservation. Colonel Thursday rebutes his demands and makes the threat to go to war.



Now Colonel, Colonel York is seen here, explaining to reporters, how the troops and Colonel Thursday, fought heroically and lost the battle. Not explaining to them, how Colonel Thursday's ill decisions caused them to lose the battle.
