Operation Pacific



John Wayne stars as Commander Duke Gifford an Executive Officer aboard a submarine during World War II in the Pacific. Hollywood dedicated this movie to all the sailors who died during WWII, in the silent service.     



Commander Gifford is seen here, helping to evacuate some nuns and children from a battle ridden island, in the Pacific.



Commander Gifford and some of the crew are seen here awaiting depth charges from the Japs. This scene was right after, rescuing the nuns and children.



Commander Gifford and the crew are welcome back, by the Admiral at Pearl Harbor.



Commander Gifford is seen here, meeting his ex-wife(Who is a Navy Nurse).



The sub's Commander, nicknamed Pop, is seen here being shot by a Japanese aircraft. In the process he ordered the submarine to submerge without him.



Commander Gifford in this scene, was just appointed to be skipper of the sub. Since "Pop" didn't make it.



Commander Gifford is talking to one of his officers, they are just started back to sea, leaving Pearl Harbor.



Commander Gifford and some of the crew members are seen top board.



Gifford and the crew, are under attack by Japanese Destroyers, launching depth charges.

Commander Gifford's sub is seen here heading back to Pearl Harbor. They manage to sink several ships, including a aircraft carrier. They also rescued 7 down pilots.
